The ECMC Outpatient Substance Use Treatment services (two clinic locations) provides substance use evaluations, short- and long-term individual counseling, group therapy, psychiatric consultation, and medication assisted treatment services including Suboxone, Naltrexone, and Vivitrol. These clinics provided almost 40,000 outpatient treatment visits per year on average. Care is provided through an interdisciplinary team, consisting of nurse practitioners, along with masters and doctoral level clinicians.
Interns will gain experience working in an outpatient substance abuse treatment environment through an individual counseling caseload and facilitating groups. There are also opportunities for assessment.
