This fund is available to students who are experiencing an unexpected hardship that could impact their ability to remain enrolled in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Hardships may include, but are not limited to:
Funding is intended to provide short term relief to the student.
Award amount varies depending on the student's unique situation and the severity of the emergency. Generally, approvals will be given for awards between $100-$600 (to cover an emergency flight home, for example). Students must state the specific award amount they are requesting on the application.
All students enrolled in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, who are in good standing with the University, are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to first and second year medical students and undergraduate seniors majoring in biochemistry.
Students awards are based on the availability of funds and the strength of the student's application. The Office of Student and Academic Affairs will notify students of the award decision.
