Developmental Disabilities Clinic

In this rotation you will see dually diagnosed, developmentally disabled children from preschool ages through adolescence.

This part-time rotation provides dedicated time for you to see children with significant intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorders and/or severe behavior problems, under the guidance of a faculty attending physician. The attending will directly supervise and consult with you as you work with the most complicated developmentally disabled patients in your caseload.

Patients come from a variety of socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Most have comorbid externalizing disorders but some have psychotic, mood and anxiety disorders as well.

Although your primary focus will be psychopharmacologic treatment, you will also engage in advocacy, parent guidance and consultation to social agencies on these complex cases.
