Medical Student Renal Workshop Sessions

Sharpen your teaching skills when you lead clinical case sessions for medical students.

During your second year of training, you’ll be responsible for teaching workshops for medical students who are undertaking their internal medicine clerkship course.

These workshops give you an opportunity to share your knowledge about a range of common disorders, assert your expertise in renal medicine and gain leadership experience.

You’ll present clinical cases on conditions such as acute renal failure and electrolyte disorders. We’ll expect you to engage the students in discussion and guide them as they:

  • analyze the facts of the cases and patients’ history
  • consider the possible causes of clinical findings
  • contemplate potential diagnoses

You’ll have the opportunity to teach one or two renal workshop sessions.
