Emergency Medicine

This rotation places you on the front lines of the region’s busiest emergency room, where you’ll work alongside board-certified physicians to gain competence in the initial management of medical emergencies.

You’ll be the only resident working in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital’s emergency room during this rotation, an opportunity that will increase both your procedural experience and your exposure to interesting cases.

You’ll manage multiple patients, developing differential diagnoses and triaging cases based on emergency room standards. You’ll review all cases with staff to determine a management plan, and you’ll liaise with referral services on patient care issues.

One half-day per week, you’ll attend grand rounds in emergency medicine.
