Community Experiential Excursion

We’ve established many relationships and partnerships with local day cares, schools, community centers and community organizations that serve our patient population. In this innovative series, fellows and our program director spend one afternoon per month at one of these sites.

Each excursion will give you opportunities to:

• speak with the organizational staff
• observe and interact with the children and adolescents being served by the organization
• learn about the organization’s operations

Through these interactions and experiences, you’ll enhance your knowledge about normal child development while learning about the local services available for children and families. 

These excursions allow you to give back to the community; you’ll work with our attendings to present educational sessions for organizational staff and community members.

Moreover, our fellows have found that these excursions often lead to lasting community partnerships involving cross referrals and educational training opportunities.
