Much of modern child and adolescent psychiatric practice requires navigating complex processes necessitating continuous efforts in quality improvement (QI), so each class of our fellows completes a quality improvement project on the topic of their choice.
Our quality improvement project meetings will acquaint you with the basic methods and tools of quality improvement and give you opportunities to gain mentorship and support as you conduct your group project. You’ll work with other fellows to design and implement an evidence-based intervention to a common clinical issue.
You can expect to collect data, evaluate it and then use it to further refine the intervention in successive Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles. You will present findings at departmental and school-wide meetings as well as at the clinical site where the study was performed.
This project — which you’ll work on throughout your two years in our program — will equip you with indispensible QI skills. Moreover, it will benefit the clinical site at which your study was conducted.
