Following these best practices will ensure smooth operation and maximum benefits from your Listserv experience.
Sending to a Listserv
Jacobs School listservs are electronic mailing lists that allow users to send messages to list subscribers. In most cases, messages sent to a listserv should contain information that are of broad interest to a large group of people.
Listserv messages should be related to academics or student life and relevant to the intended audience.
For moderated listservs, messages sent to the list will undergo review from list moderators before being released to the entire listserv.
Please allow up to 2 business days for messages to be reviewed. In most cases, messages will be reviewed the same day, though response times may vary outside of normal business hours.
List moderators reserve the right to reject messages that are deemed of not sufficient interest for the listserv audience or contains information that is offensive, disparaging or otherwise inappropriate.
While listserv items may deal with a controversial subject, attacks or bullying of the poster or any individuals, groups or beliefs will not be tolerated.
Contact information, including an email address and a phone number for a person, should be included in every listserv message, so that recipients may reach out with questions.
Listserv messages should be sent out judiciously in order to guard against email overload. In most cases, messages should only be sent once.
