This course is specifically designed for the medical student interested in pursuing a career in ophthalmology.
The goals of the course are to build a foundation of knowledge about clinical ophthalmology.
The course is typically divided into separate sections to expose the student to a variety of pathology: 1) adult clinical and surgical ophthalmology, 2) pediatric/adolescent clinical and surgical ophthalmology, 3) surgical and clinical ophthalmology at the Veterans Affairs Hospital of Western New York.
The student will attend all weekly departmental conferences and lectures. It is optional for the student to formally present a case presentation at grand rounds. Interested students need to contact Dr. Sieminski early in the rotation to arrange.
A required reading list and a monthly departmental schedule will be provided prior to starting the course.
