PTY 805 Senior Teaching in the Behavioral Sciences/Psychiatry, 4 credits

This course gives seniors the opportunity to assist in the teaching of the Behavioral Sciences/Psychiatry course. The goal of this course is for interested students to strengthen their psychiatric knowledge both by re-experiencing and teaching the course materials. You will attend all the didactics, lead small group case-based discussions, create and present review materials, and answer student questions. By the end of the experience, you will have firmed your grasp on psychiatric concepts and increased your confidence in a teaching role.

Before registering to teach in this elective, students must receive permission from the instructors of the course. Registration is on a “first come, first served” basis, with a maximum capacity of two teaching assistants.

Prerequisites: MS4

Modules: overlapping in Mods F and G (must have approval from course director and clear understanding that this elective straddles two modules)
