  • Addictions Medicine

    As a rural primary care provider, you will learn to manage patients with alcohol and other substance use disorders and learn how to effectively advocate for services and provide the necessary resources to your patients.
  • Ambulatory Pediatrics

    In an unopposed clinical environment, you’ll care for patients with pediatric conditions commonly seen in office practice, as well as inpatients.
  • Ambulatory Surgery/Anesthesia

    This rotation trains you in the typical surgical and anesthesia procedures performed on an outpatient, ambulatory or same-day basis.
  • Behavioral Medicine

    The rotation trains you to manage your patients’ mental health conditions and related concerns.
  • Cardiac Care

    In a state-of-the-art cardiac care unit, you’ll learn how to manage patients with cardiac disease.
  • Cardiology

    This inpatient-outpatient experience supplements your training in the ICU and on your Family Medicine Inpatient Service.
  • Community Medicine

    Our rotation in community medicine introduces you to the variety of medical and social services available to patients within the community.
  • Dermatology

    You’ll train in a high-volume dermatology clinic, diagnosing and managing a wide variety of skin diseases and cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease.
  • Emergency Medicine

    This first- and second-year rotation gives you the skills necessary to stabilize patients in life-threatening medical emergencies.
  • Endocrinology
    8/12/15
    Your training in endocrinology takes you to New York State’s largest academic diabetic unit, where you’ll work with a world-renowned expert on diabetes and obesity to manage and treat patients with a variety of endocrine disorders.
  • Family Medicine Inpatient Service

    You’ll learn to directly manage your patients’ conditions in an inpatient setting during this longitudinal rotation.
  • Geriatrics
    8/12/15
    You’ll develop and enhance the diagnostic and management skills you need to care for older patients.
  • Gynecology
    8/12/15
    You’ll receive broad training caring for female patients of all ages during this predominantly outpatient rotation.
  • ICU
    8/12/15
    You’ll become proficient recognizing and understanding emergent conditions as you admit patients and manage their care in the intensive care unit.
  • Inpatient Pediatrics

    During this first-year rotation, you’ll become fully integrated into the care team at one of the country’s leading pediatric hospitals.
  • MICU

    Training in the region’s leading medical intensive care unit, you’ll work closely with intensivists, fellows and residents from other departments.
  • Neurology
    5/29/19
    Working in outpatient and inpatient settings, you’ll learn how to recognize the most common primary headaches and manage a variety of neurological disorders.
  • Newborn Nursery
    8/12/15
    As a full member of a comprehensive neonatology team, you’ll care for newborns and gain a deeper understanding of the physiology of newborn issues during this first-year rotation.
  • Obstetrics

    You’ll receive ample experience managing pre- and postnatal care, labor and delivery during this rotation.
  • Orientation
    6/15/17
    You’ll become acquainted with our program during orientation, meeting faculty and staff, learning how your residency is structured and gaining insights into your clinical practice.
  • Orthopaedics

    You’ll gain experience evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries, including emergent conditions.
  • Pediatrics
    5/29/19
    Supervised by a community physician, you’ll gain experience caring for pediatric outpatients as well as some inpatients.
  • Radiology
    7/14/15
    You’ll learn about invasive and noninvasive imaging techniques during your radiology rotation, as well as the specialty’s therapeutic modalities.
  • Sports Medicine
    7/14/15
    Working in a high-volume clinic, you’ll gain competence diagnosing and treating injuries specific to sports and exercise in patients of all ages.
  • Surgery

    Supervised by faculty, you’ll serve as first or second assistant on every case during your surgery rotation.
  • Surgical Subspecialties

    Our two separate two-week surgical subspecialty rotations consist of training in ophthalmology, otolaryngology and urology with two weeks in the first year and two weeks in the third year. 
  • Electives

    We offer you up to five months of electives during your second and third years of residency — close to the maximum the ACGME allows.
