Electives

We offer you up to five months of electives during your second and third years of residency — close to the maximum the ACGME allows.

From allergy/immunology to rheumatology, our program lets you explore a broad array of electives that will enhance your understanding of family medicine’s many facets.

As well, you can use elective time to extend your training in several core rotations, including ICUobstetrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine and dermatology.

You may spend anywhere from one to four weeks in the electives you choose, depending on your individual training needs. You may also choose rotations and electives from our UB residency program in Buffalo.

Additionally, you may take your vacations during time alloted for electives.
