Orientation

You’ll become acquainted with our program during orientation, meeting faculty and staff, learning how your residency is structured and gaining insights into your clinical practice.

Our orientation will acquaint you with the operation of the family medicine center and teach you how to cope with the most stressful aspects of new residency.

You’ll learn how to work with preceptors, manage your patient schedule and use reference materials.

During orientation, you’ll become certified in cardiac life support, pediatric life support and advanced life support for obstetrics.

We also offer a number of social activities so you can get to know your peers and departmental faculty.

Upon relocation to Olean, you will have an additional orientation to help you transition from the suburban environment to your rural residency community.
