Newborn Nursery

As a full member of a comprehensive neonatology team, you’ll care for newborns and gain a deeper understanding of the physiology of newborn issues during this first-year rotation.

As you work one-on-one with neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners, you’ll become competent diagnosing and managing common newborn conditions in a suburban hospital’s level-1 nursery.

You’ll attend uncomplicated deliveries, attend daily rounds and learn to recognize and refer complex problems.

Alongside the NICU team—comprised of 13 neonatal nurse practitioners and a transport team—you’ll attend high-risk deliveries, write daily orders and help with resuscitations.

Additionally, you’ll attend weekly pediatric grand round conferences.
